I am failing at the concept art assignment.

I admit it I cannot draw well at all. I am trying and have been working on my Concept art work and cannot get anything down that I really love. I am very stressed about it. Well I got myself a bamboo wacom to hopefully help a little. Well I am very discouraged at the moment I hope I can get this in by the second. (It will take a miracle. ;))

I am working on concept art.

Just posted a simple concept to the site. I am still working on more but I thought this would be a cute one for now. I need to get the concepts down for the supporting cast since my main character is a balloon.

Well back to work. O yeah and tomorrow, in personal news, I have Jury duty. So maybe no time to work on anything tomorrow.

Well while I was at work today ...

I Nanny, the kids were taking a nap. The people I was sitting for had a Piano ... and although I do not play the piano (I can pick out the notes is about it) I composed the instrumental that I may use for my short. :) We will see.

Made Navigation Bar for site.

Not perfect by a long shot but hey its a drop down menu... does not work in IE well. But I guess for now it will have to do. I spent so much time trying to get it right, I still have the other pages to make. For now all the links work and the story page it roughly done. I plan to get alot more done tomorrow (well later on today) after some sleep.

ps. I really could not have done any of this without avace. I am still amazed at how much I have learned the last couple of days.

My website layout so far.

I have posted some WIP drafts of this layout to see them check out my other 3d Blog. But here is what I have after watching the videos that Zak and Jason made. The website continues to be a challenge since I do want it to have a very professional yet still playful feel. I believe I have the final layout for the main page done!

Thank you for joining me. (the story up til now)

The journey began weeks ago now when the Advanced Digital Production was announced on www.3dbuzz.com. I wanted to be a part of it from the first moment I heard of it.

As soon as I knew that we were to make our own shorts, with original ideas. I began brainstorming what I wanted to bring to life.

What I came up with is as follows.

“Deflated” Working title

A foil balloon waiting in anticipation for the day that he would be blown up and fulfil his dream of bringing a child joy.

Set scene by having an exterior shot of the Party supply shop and then in through the glass of the entrance door – past the registers and straight ahead to the counter with the storage room behind it – into the storage room.

The storage room is dark and we pan around to get a look at all the items inside we see the helium tank, wire shelves with boxes of balloons on top of them. We continue to look around until our attention focuses on our star: A smiley face foil balloon in a box – we see his smile in the shadows ... he is the next in line today he is up to bat. We leave his face as the light in the room flicks on a worker enters the room. The girl proceeds to put her purse down and then makes her way to blowing up the batch of balloons needed for the day. (get well soon, congratulations, it’s a boy, it’s a girl, various animal creatures) Soon the worker reaches for our hero. The smiley faced foil balloons smile seems to get bigger as he is lifted to the helium tank and the worker begins to fill him up with air … it is his day to bring a child joy. He is approximately half full with air when a loud noise comes from off screen a co-worker startled the employee. The balloon deflates rapidly and slides under the wire shelving the boxes of balloons are organized on. This is occurring while the two employees are exchanging pleasantries. A shot from the balloons perspective shows that the employee looks to see where he put the balloon but then shrugs and grabs another. Time lapse as we see brief shots of employees doing the same … always choosing another balloon and not our hero … they don’t even know he is there. The shot gets a little hazy to show dust that the balloon is looking through. The situation is sad … we come up to see the balloon under the wire shelves and then we go out the storage door and see a mom and her little girl walk up. The daughter is very excited they come up to the counter and ask for a smiley balloon it seems that you are out…

The sales person says – we are out I am sorry

Please I promised her she could get one could you check again.

The sales person goes into the storage room and looks at the empty box throws it away and then kneels down to look to see if they have another box. He finds our hero … blows him up and while hiding the balloon behind his back the sales rep brings the Balloon out … we hear the child shriek in delight. The hero has achieved his dream. we watch his smile as it seems to get just a touch bigger

end

Well I will bring you updates as I progress through this journey.
